E- Cigarettes Banned in NYC

I am going to go a little off base with this post but I can not believe that they banned vaping in New York City. I smoked and dipped in the Marines and I hated the pain it was to do either of those things. You can't smoke anywhere anymore. The dipping is fine to do inside but is kinda gross. If I dip without eating, I will get an upset belly for the rest of the day. (plus it ruins your teeth)
About two years ago both problems were solved for me, the first time I smoked an e-cigarette. Since then, when I'm having a beer or waiting for the ferry (or writing my blog, I'm smoking one right now) I would take a few puffs and relax. This ban is just terrible! Read here

                                                                 NYC E-CIG BAN

The number one problem with this ban is that there is ZERO medical research to back it. They are banning it because it looks like smoking and that is just crazy!
P.S. If you want to try the Puf Cigs brand that I smoke (and is a client of the marketing firm I work for) I have a coupon code for 20% off there website. It's "REDDITPUF20". Check it out! I love the watermelon one!

I made this graphic! What do you think?

Shameless

Who's the problem?

I am a big fan of the Showtime show Shameless (even if as an Irish American it hits a little close to house). I have religiously watched this show every Sunday night for last four years but this was the first season that they started to lose me.
If you have never seen the show before the general theme of the show has been a group of super poor kids trying to make it on the south side of Chicago. The oldest is a daughter named Fiona played by the super hot Emmy Rossum. The show is more or less about how they try to make ends meet without help because their mother split and their father is an Alcoholic and an extremely bad one at that.
This has worked great for the first three seasons but this season the kids are all getting over and they are started to be responsible for their own well being and they just follow the pattern of making a bad situation worse. So you don't feel bad about it anymore, the show loses it effect on the viewer. Fiona becomes slutty and a drug addict out of left field and it makes me thing that the writers didn't know where the show was going and it created a weak plot this season.

The season is still worth the time but not up to par of the other seasons. Here is one reason to watch.

How I Met Your Mother: SPOILERS

So like most people I watched How I Met Your Mother off and on for years. It was a funny show with its pecks and valleys but overall a pretty good sitcom. MY beef is with the ended it Monday night. So after like ten years of showing you all the different women that the main character Ted dated, this season half way thought they show you the "mother" which should have been the first alarm that it was going to be a special ending. Why not save the mother until the last show?
I feel like the ending was a little bit of " a jumping the shark" which is a television term for when a show has been on television too long and is no longer any good. It comes from  Happy Days when the Fonz jumps a shark on water skis.
So the women that this show is based on is in like half of the last season and then on Monday night they KILL HER OFF!! And Ted ends up with Robin. It's not such a terrible idea but it was the lazy way out. The last season Robin is marrying Barry but in the last episode the do this time lap thing where they all get older and Barry and Robin do work out and she gets back with Ted after the mother dies. I just feel like it is such a lazy ending. And that's not how real life works, you (most of the time) don't end up with an ex-girlfriend who is also your friend's ex-wife. One word to sum up the ending.... L-A-Z-Y

Doctor Sleep

This next post is a little off topic from the others but I started reading Stephen King's Doctor Sleep and it is awesome. The novel follows Danny the young boy from The Shinning (below) when he has grown up and is dealing with his gift of the shinning. Some old favorites from The Shinning come back to visit Danny and the story is simply terrifying.
Stephen King's books have all been great but I haven't read one in years but the Staten Island Clown that showed up the other day, made me thing of the movie "IT" and made me go out and get King's new novel. Stephen King has been the master of horror for years now but sadly most of his television/film projects have fallen short of the books.
If you want to read a novel that will keep you up at night and have you double checking the locks on your doors than Doctor Sleep is right up your alley.
